The term ‘design methods’ can sound a little intimidating. It might bring to mind images of graphic designers or edgy startups.
But anyone can learn to use design methods — and they can be an invaluable tool for public servants.
Join this free interactive online workshop, developed in collaboration with Telescope, to learn how you can use design methods in the public service. You’ll discover how specific design methods can be used to innovate and tackle complex challenges, from tackling homelessness to reducing reoffending.

This workshop is for any public servant or policymaker who wants to learn about using design methods in the public service — no prior experience with design methods necessary.

Hebe Foster, co-founder of Telescope, leads on business development and sales. Alongside her work with Telescope, she runs post-investment support for early-stage impact ventures in emerging markets through her role at Mercy Corps Ventures. Her background is in French & Russian languages & literature, and she has experience in financial services and women's charities in the UK and abroad.
Dr Sarah Holliday, research scientist by background, having held academic roles in the UK and US designing new low-cost solar photovoltaic materials. As co-founder and director of Telescope, she is responsible for programmes and partnerships, as well as leading on our service design research to constantly improve our work. She is also a researcher at the social innovation non-profit Nesta, researching and designing challenge prizes to enable diverse innovators in developing smart solutions to systemic social and environmental problems.
