• Yoshi Manale, City Manager at the City of Claremont, USA is a dedicated public servant who has served in several management roles, helping run various US municipalities. From being the deputy mayor of the Capital of the State of New Jersey (Trenton, NJ), working on procurement reform for the Mayor of New York City, to his current role as the city manager for a rural mountain city in the State of New Hampshire, USA, Yoshi has focused on innovative approaches to employee retention and hiring criteria to find qualified staff to improve the lives of the city’s residents. He is a recent participant of the Bloomberg/Harvard City Leadership Initiative, which brings City leaders from across the globe to discuss the most pressing issues facing Cities.

• Jordan Urban, a researcher at the Institute for Government, the UK’s leading think tank on making UK government more effective. His work has focused on civil service reform and how to improve the way policy is made. He has published multiple reports on how to make recruitment in the civil service more effective and is currently the lead researcher on the Commission on the Centre of Government, which will recommend improvements to how No.10, the Cabinet Office and the Treasury operate.
