Julie Wright, Director of Partners for Action, a research initiative at the University of Waterloo that focuses on empowering Canadians to become flood resilient by promoting awareness and preparedness actions that are inclusive and evidence-based. Prior to Partners for Action, Julie led Waterloo Global Science Initiative’s decade-long summit series that tackled global decarbonization, the redesign of secondary education, the acceleration of global energy access, and the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Canada.
Laura Schnurr, Director, Climate Transitions at the Tamerack Institute. Laura is passionate about supporting cities and communities in their journeys towards ensuring a just, equitable and sustainable future for the next 7 generations and beyond. Through events, publications, communities of practice and other learning opportunities, Laura is helping advance the 2030 Agenda in Canada with a specific focus on the goals related to equity and climate change.
