A great briefing note can be the difference between action and inaction, influence and indifference. When senior decision-makers are short on time and have conflicting priorities, your ability to deliver clear, concise and compelling information, fast, can shape outcomes at the highest levels.
This event will explore how public servants can craft briefing notes that cut through complexity and deliver what leaders need to know, quickly and confidently. From structure and tone to clarity and persuasion, we’ll unpack methods, frameworks and the most common mistakes to avoid when preparing short, sharp documents.
Whether you’re advising on policy, updating on implementation or recommending a decision, this session will help you write notes that get read, remembered and responded to.

Belgium
Lucie Duchâteau, Within the Front Office and the Political Affairs Division, Lucie supports the Special Envoys’ mandate in the Great Lakes region and the implementation of the Action Plan under the United Nations Peacebuilding Strategy for the region. She has more than six years of professional experience within the United Nations — previously at the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and at DPPA-DPO Research and Crisis Centre — and has worked with the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations in New York, with the French Development Agency (AFD) in Paris, and with non-governmental organizations in Brazil. Before joining the Office of the Special Envoy, Lucie primarily worked on conflict resolution, as well as peace and international security issues.
Klavdija Černilogar Dwyer, serves as Head of the Communication Unit at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy, working to showcase the value that EU funding brings to Europe’s economy and its citizens. Previously, she held management and policy roles in various European Commission other departments, as well as in the European civil society.
