The Life in Government community is a collaborative space designed for Apolitical members to connect with peers in the global public service and ask and answer questions on life in government.
Event Description:
Decision-making is hard, especially in government. Processes are complex, obstacles are commonplace and the data supposed to help guide you is either overwhelmingly plentiful or just plain unavailable. And, on top of that, the choices you make have the potential to impact millions.
Given these realities, the impulse to delay or defer decisions might be strong — but it doesn’t need to be. That’s why we’re inviting three leaders to share frameworks, tools and tips for making confident choices that lead to positive change.

Dr Brooke Struck, Founder & Principal Facilitator, Converge, and Advisor at The Decision Lab. He is an internationally recognized voice in applied behavioural science, representing TDL’s work in outlets such as Forbes, Vox, Huffington Post and Bloomberg, as well as Canadian venues such as the Globe & Mail, CBC and Global Media. Dr. Struck hosts TDL’s podcast “The Decision Corner” and speaks regularly to practicing professionals in industries from finance to health & wellbeing to tech & AI.
Dr. Michelle Krieger, Advisor at BIT Canada. Prior to joining BIT, she conducted research in the areas of online gender-based and sexual violence, juror decision-making, and health equity. She has also assisted with research on various forensic issues, job search behaviours, and sexual violence prevention. Michelle holds a PhD in Applied Social Psychology from the University of Windsor, an MA in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School, and undergraduate degrees in Forensic Science (BS) and Psychology (BA) from the University of Windsor.
