Choose to challenge: An introduction to women, peace and security

On 8 March, people around the world came together to celebrate International Women’s Day: to celebrate gains made for gender equality, and to galvanise advocates and activists to continue the push for equality.

But equality is impossible to achieve without peace, and peace is impossible to achieve without equality.

Join this free online boot camp, developed in collaboration with UN Women, about the women, peace and security (WPS) agenda. Focused around the theme ‘Choose to challenge,’ this boot camp will introduce you to the fundamentals of the women, peace and security agenda, and explore what you can do to help create a more gender equal world in 2021 and beyond.

You’ll learn:

• Week 1: Why do we need a women, peace and security (WPS) agenda?
• Week 2: What is WPS?
• Week 3: How does the WPS agenda work?
• Week 4: Where does the WPS agenda go from here?

You’ll get:

• One 20-minute email lesson per week for four weeks to complete at your own pace, beginning shortly after you register
• Lessons filled with articles, videos, infographics and more
• Suggestions of resources to take your learning further

This boot camp is for any public servant or policymaker looking to learn more about the women, peace and security agenda.
