Watch this free virtual event for team leads, managers, L&D leaders, and senior public servants to learn how cohort-based learning can build core skills in your team or department at scale.
Using the popular Advance Your Writing in Government course as a case study, this event explores how cohort-based learning can deliver high-impact learning experiences that enable colleagues to become more effective in their roles.
You'll learn from peers in the Civil Service about strategies for delivering effective cohort learning, building learner engagement and motivating colleagues to invest in their own development. You’ll also hear about how a range of departments have successfully applied this approach in different contexts and learn from the challenges they faced.
This event is for anyone who’s responsible for the learning and development of teams to gain valuable insights and inspiration from their peers on building engagement through learning across the UK Civil Service.

Natalie Stagg, Natalie currently heads up the Personal and Professional Learning Engagement team that partners the HR, Digital and Finance Professions. She has a strong background in operational delivery, change, strategy, and programme management where she’s developed engagement, analytical, commercial, and relationship management skills and capabilities. Natalie has worked in a variety of major change programmes including Health Transformation Programme, Universal Credit Programmes both in DWP & HMRC, headed up the HR Employee Deal Programme Office where she played a significant role in the successful delivery of the unprecedented and greatest change to 80k colleagues’ contractual Terms and Conditions.
Barbara Murray, Barbara works for the department of Health and Social as one of the Policy Managers in the adult social care group leading the rollout of national policies. For her corporate contribution, Barbara co-chairs the L&D Network and is a strong advocate for continued learning evidenced by designing monthly lunch & learn activities to ensure everyone has a chance to undertake learning to update their knowledge and skills whilst gaining insights on new policy development.
Manisha Pathak, Manisha is a Capability Partner at the Cabinet Office leading on developing the universal skills you need to work in Government. Manisha is an experienced Organisational Development Practitioner. Her extensive civil service background spans diverse roles, including talent management, organisational change, learning and development, operational delivery and policy. Additionally, Manisha has successfully embedded a series of masterclasses for newly appointed ministers (contributing to the Declaration of Government Reform) and has designed and delivered cross-governmental leadership programmes in Civil Service Talent leading META (Minority Ethic Talent Association) and HM Prison and Probation Service leading the Senior Leaders Scheme. She has also worked on major workforce change programmes leading the East of England prisons. As a relational leader, she excels at connecting the dots across the system while valuing the lived experience of our workforce.
