The Integrated Testbed consists of three core pillars designed to facilitate the free development and validation of innovative services: Digital Resources, Development Support Tools, and Professional Technical Support.
With the acceleration of digital transformation and the integration of AI into daily life, there is a growing necessity for everyone to develop innovative technologies and services based on private-sector capabilities. However, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and ventures, which often face more challenging ICT environments compared to large corporations, struggle to secure the infrastructure needed to develop, test, and verify advanced technologies. Furthermore, individual citizens and startups with creative ideas often face barriers in creating innovative services due to a lack of familiarity with planning, coding, and testing. Consequently, there is a vital need for a foundational environment where SMEs, startups, citizen developers, and public institutions can freely develop, test, and verify Digital Government Infrastructure advanced technologies and services.
The Integrated Testbed consists of three core pillars designed to facilitate the free development and validation of innovative services: Digital Resources, Development Support Tools, and Professional Technical Support. First, Digital Resources provide various APIs, including public and private data, and support multi-cloud environments (CPU, GPU, storage, etc.). Second, Development Support Tools include software development suites (DevOps, No-Code, Low-Code, etc.) and platforms for data analysis and AI training. Third, Professional Technical Support offers educational opportunities and technical consulting in areas such as AI/ML, Big Data, Hyper-scale AI, and Cloud-Native technologies. Together, these elements create an environment where anyone can develop and verify innovative services.
To solve national social issues and promote public innovation by combining digital resources with AI, the "Challenge 2024" and "Hackathon 2024" were held using the Integrated Testbed. Moving away from traditional contest formats, these events provided coaching and mentoring from experts at AI and ICT companies to ensure that identified ideas could be developed into optimal AI services. As a result, 10 business models, such as a tailored AI real estate recommendation service, and 11 innovative services, including a customized job search service for seniors, were developed. Additionally, a total of 233 technical support cases were completed, encompassing professional/general technical assistance, coaching, education, and business matching. While SMEs, startups, and citizen developers previously lacked the environments to develop and verify innovative services, the Integrated Testbed is expected to empower anyone to create innovative, tangible services for the public.
