• Karyne Montigny, is Manager of the Indigenous Recruitment Centre of Expertise at the Public Service Commission of Canada. With 18 years in HR, she has led national initiatives like the Indigenous Student Employment Opportunity and developed innovative tools to advance equity, diversity and inclusive hiring across the federal public service. • Rell DeShaw, retired in 2025 from the Federal Public Service in Canada, after a distinguished career spanning three decades. For the last 20 years, she worked at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Over the past decade, Rell cultivated a deep interest in management and leadership, developing a rich side pursuit focused on becoming a better manager. During the pandemic, Rell began contributing articles to Apolitical, where she has published over 25 pieces on topics ranging from grieving at work to multi-tasking. To mark 30 years in public service, she is writing a “30 for 30” series—30 articles reflecting on her experiences and learnings—which will first appear on LinkedIn and later be cross-posted to her blog.
