How to improve government services

Citizen-centric design has been at the centre of lots of recent government discussion, and for good reason. Ensuring that government services are accessible and easy to use is a must. But how can public servants apply citizen-centric design to improve existing services?

This boot camp in partnership with Citizen First will focus on how to make existing services more citizen-centric using a four-step process and equip you with the tools and resources you need to assess your services and develop your desired future state.

Citizen First’s role is to provide public sector organisations with the tools to provide an excellent service delivery experience to citizens. We work and collaborate with governments across Canada and around the world to improve the service delivery experience.

You’ll learn how to:

• Assess your organisation’s capacity to make meaningful improvements to your services
• Identify best practices for collecting citizen feedback
• Develop a strategic service improvement plan and ensure successful implementation

• Lesson 1: Where are we now?
• Lesson 2: Where do we need to be?
• Lesson 3: How will we get there?
• Lesson 4: How will we make it happen?

What you’ll get:

• One interactive email lesson per week for four weeks, each with 20 minutes of key learning material and additional tools and resources
• A step-by-step framework to follow to help you improve government services
• Articles, videos, and activities to guide you through this four-step process
• A certificate upon completion
