Event Description
You’re likelier to be at the top of your game if you’re able to bring your true self to work. But how do you, as a colleague or manager, build an inclusive environment for your LGBTQIA+ peers? What does true allyship look like, and what can you do to prevent discrimination in the workplace?
Join this event to learn about creating good policies and practices to make workplaces safer for and more inclusive of LGBTQIA+ individuals. It will explore what public servants can do for their colleagues to build inclusive workplaces where everyone can thrive.
Whatever your role, this event will provide you with valuable insights and tools to help you create positive change.

Adam Bishop, Senior Prison/Project Officer in Australia's Department of Justice and Community Safety. He has worked in the public service for nearly 10 years across numerous positions but has consistently and tirelessly worked to support trans and gender diverse people, and LGBTIQ+ inclusion in Australia’s Justice system.
Jessica Morrison, the LGBTQI+ Program Officer with the USAID Inclusive Development Hub, where she oversees program design and implementation, resource planning, and interagency and donor coordination for the Agency’s LGBTQI+ Portfolio. Prior to this, she served as Director and Deputy Director of the Program Office in Jordan (2017-2022), a Program Officer in Haiti (2014-2017), and a Democracy and Governance Officer in Nicaragua (2012-2014). In her overseas assignments, Jessica has led USAID and Embassy efforts on a wide range of LGBTQI+-related issues, from accreditation of same-sex spouses of Embassy employees to building relationships with the local LGBTQI+ community to integrating LGBTQI+ equities into USAID programming. She now sits on the boards of glifaa and Gender and Sexual Minorities at USAID, through which she advocates for LGBTQI+ workforce equity and inclusion.
Hannah Venn-Brown, the Assistant Director – HR Strategy at Services Australia. Hannah is the proud Co-Chair of the agency’s Rainbow Roundtable, and finalist in 2024 Australian LGBTQ+ Inclusion Awards for the Sally Webster Ally Award. She champions LGBTIQ+ inclusion, spearheading initiatives like the Employee Ambassador network, to showcase Services Australia as an inclusive employer. Hannah's dedication to diversity and inclusion makes her a respected leader in creating inclusive spaces within the public sector in Australia.
