2021: What will it bring for gender equality?

2020 has seen many challenges to gender equality, and the devastating impact of Covid-19 has been even worse for women. Domestic violence has intensified, women work on the front lines of response with great risk for exposure, and many others have lost income in the economic downturn. For those working at home, caring and housework responsibilities are continuing to disproportionately fall to women.

2021 can and must be better for women and girls everywhere - and we have opportunities to make it so.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, UN Women has launched Generation Equality, a campaign to drive gender equity globally. Generation Equality includes two international Forums and the establishment of six Action Coalitions to deliver concrete and transformative change for women and girls around the world on issues ranging from gender based violence to economic security.

To support the Generation Equality platform and three of the Action Coalitions, Apolitical is partnering with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to provide public servants with the latest and best ideas, skills and partners.
