• Sana Khareghani, Former Head of the UK Office for AI, and current Professor of Practice in AI at King's College London, holds a BSc in Computer Science and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Sana has over 20 years’ experience in technology and business across the private and public sectors. She has worked as a software engineer in big corporates and start-ups, as a management consultant advising senior officials throughout North America, Europe and the Middle East, and as Former Head of the Office for AI – a joint unit between Department for Digital, Media, Culture and Sport (DCMS) and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The Office for AI put in place the foundations around Skills, Access to Data, International and Leadership by the UK AI Council, to underpin the adoption of AI & Data technologies across the economy for the betterment of society.

• Professor David Leslie, Director of Ethics and Responsible Innovation Research at The Alan Turing Institute, is a true expert in all things AI and ethics. He is Professor of Ethics, Technology and Society at Queen Mary University of London, and the author of the UK Government’s official guidance on the responsible design and implementation of AI systems in the public sector. He also authored 'Understanding artificial intelligence ethics and safety', and was a principal co-author of 'Explaining decisions made with AI'. After serving as an elected member of the Bureau of the Council of Europe’s (CoE) Ad Hoc Committee on Artificial Intelligence, he was appointed Specialist Advisor to the CoE’s Committee on AI. As part of his international work, he also serves on UNESCO’s High-Level Expert Group steering the implementation of its Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, a first-of-its-kind document adopted by the 193 Member States of the Organization.
