Join the Life in Government Community
The Life in Government Community is a collaborative space designed for Apolitical members to connect with peers in the global public service and ask and answer questions on life in government.
Event Description
Endless emails, back-to-back meetings, constant notifications — public servants face an overwhelming number of distractions every day. With urgent requests, shifting priorities and information overload, staying focused can feel impossible. Yet, in a world full of competing demands, the ability to concentrate is one of the most valuable skills a public servant can develop.
Improving focus isn’t just about avoiding distractions — it’s about working with intention, making better decisions and reducing mental overload. Small changes in how we manage attention, structure tasks and filter out the noise can transform the way we work, benefiting both citizens and our own well-being.
At this event, we’ll share practical strategies to help public servants sharpen their focus, no matter their role or department. Learn from experts and peers about simple shifts and handy tools that can help you cut through distractions, prioritise what matters, and maximise your impact.
