What is your biggest pain point when writing?
Writing is best when it’s short and sweet. While plenty of public servants struggle to make their writing persuasive, their biggest challenge is making it succinct.
Who do you usually write for?
Public servants are expert multi-taskers, so it’s no surprise that most write for multiple audiences. However, senior leaders came in a close second - making persuasive writing all the more important.
How confident do you feel about your written communication skills in government?
Happily, most public servants felt relatively confident in their writing skills. Few said ‘extremely confident’, though, so there’s still room for improvement!
