This is Lesson 2 in the boot camp 'How to help your team ‘build back better': A boot camp on flexible working’.

In this week’s task, you and your team are going to review the business, team and individual outcomes that – irrespective of flexibility or how you work – you and your team need to maintain or perhaps even improve.

The purpose of confirming these is to identify how you’re going to measure progress in your team. They should be aligned to your team’s business and project plans, and any individual performance objectives as well. They form a really important basis for ensuring everyone is clear on expectations, and a reference point for any conversations you may need to have if something is not working.

This week's activities

1: Watch video (2 mins) Watch this video to hear from Catherine Coghlan about what to expect from this week's lesson.

2: Complete activity 2 (10 mins) Complete activity 2, to identify what individual or team outcomes need to be maintained or improved, and whether working flexibly has impacted these outcomes. You can print the PDF and fill it in, or write your answers down.

3: Compare your answers (10 mins) If your team members are taking the boot camp with you, compare your answers with theirs. You can also compare your answers with this example for reference, or if you're completing the boot camp on your own.

4: Learn to define outcomes (7 mins) Feeling unsure about how to define an outcome, or manage for them? Read this tip sheet to get started.
