Homework activity: 10 points

Mini Service Design Project part 2: Optimize a portion of your day.

Your homework for this week is to get deeper with the process that you have mapped out last week, by adding more detail to your Journey Map, and digging deeper into your problem!

Week 2: Start Observation and User Research (10 min)

  • Step 1: Is there someone you can observe that is part of your routine? Can you interview them? Alternatively, you can observe yourself
  • Step 2: Observe the process that’s happening at that part of the day, ask anyone involved in your events, and take careful notes
  • Step 3: Add detail to rows in your journey map. Under each activity note: feelings, people involved, tools, questions the involved people ask, and add pain points, without establishing solutions yet

Homework video: 5 points

Please watch this video for an in-depth explanation on how to complete this week’s hands-on activity. Noelle will be taking you through her daily routine, showing us how she conducts observation and writes in further details about the activities that make up her everyday routine.
