A group of developing countries are preparing for disasters like the Nepal earthquakes of 2015 by improving airports – the main entry point for relief. Because airports in places like Nepal are not equipped to deal with the sheer logistics of the necessary response, their staff are being trained by the German postal service. During the 2015 earthquakes, Nepal's only international airport was often unable to receive provisions and humanitarian workers.
