A UK initiative aims to reduce sexual violence and harassment by raising awareness and empowering people to seek help if they are feeling vulnerable in a bar, club or pub. If a customer is feeling unsafe - for example, if a date is not who they said they were online - then they can go to the bar and "ask for Angela", a phrase that will raise concerns with staff. Even if people do not use the code words, the campaign has effectively raised awareness, trained staff in looking out for and helping vulnerable customers, and given people confidence that their complaints will be taken seriously.
