So you’ve decided that you want to take the next step in your career in the public service. Maybe you’ve got your eye on the perfect job, or are looking around for ways to take your career to the next level.
But where should you start? Hiring processes can seem opaque, and it can be difficult to get your cover letter just right, or know how to prepare to ace your interview.
That’s why we’ve put together this interactive email boot camp to help you kickstart your government career, developed in collaboration with the Agora Innovation Network, the Federal Youth Network and Young Professionals Networks across Canada.
We’ve compiled the most helpful resources to take you through the hiring process every step of the way, delivered once a week via email, so you can go at your own pace.
Over four weeks, you’ll learn how to:
- Week 1: Navigate the Government of Canada hiring process
- Week 2: Build an effective resume and cover letter
- Week 3: Ace written exams
- Week 4: Succeed in interviews
What you’ll get:
- One interactive email lesson per week for four weeks, each with 20 minutes of key learning material and additional tools and resources
- Top tips and resources from experienced public servants across Canada
- Articles, videos, and activities to help you every step of the way through kickstarting your career in government
Who should join:
This boot camp is for Canadian public servants and policymakers looking to kickstart their careers in government, whether you’re looking for a new position now or just want to be prepared for the future.
