Join the Long-term Governance and Futures Thinking Community
The Long-term Governance and Futures Thinking Community is a dedicated space for any public servant or policymaker interested in the use of foresight approaches to address long-term problems.
Event Description
Are you reactive, or are you ready? Do you want to stay ahead of change or keep dealing with the consequences of it?
As governments face complex, long-term challenges like climate change, AI and demographic change, the ability to build foresight into everyday decisions isn’t just good for big picture progress — it’s a career-boosting skill that shows you can lead through uncertainty. Futures thinking gives public servants practical tools to spot trends early, test different possibilities and make decisions that hold up under pressure.
In this session, we’ll unpack what foresight actually looks like in everyday government work and how developing this skillset can boost your career. You’ll hear from experts who are already applying futures thinking to real challenges and learn how these approaches can strengthen decisions you make. The event will leave you with a clear understanding of why foresight capabilities are essential in 2026 and beyond.
