Bristol is Open is a joint venture between the city, the University of Bristol and a host of business partners to turn the city into a modern, open data environment. The city is creating a new network showing anonymised data on major aspects of life, including congestion, air quality and energy. Private partners and members of the public will get access to the network in order to develop solutions. The city will also be one of the first in the UK to trial the ultra-fast 5G network, which will allow private users and companies to try out new uses for high speed data transfer.
