To build innovative governments, you know that public servants need access to the right tools and training. But ‘digital’ is a catch-all term that covers a lot and you’ll need the support of your peers and multidisciplinary teams to successfully collaborate. So, what’s your role? Where can you have the most impact?
This skills diagnostic is part of the Government Skills Impact Tracker, which has been rigorously researched and designed with experts from around the world.
It covers five competency areas — Data, Common Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Strategy and Digital Working, and User-Centred Working — and you’ll begin by choosing the area you want to focus on first.
If you don’t know where to start, think about the areas most relevant to your role, or contribute towards your department’s objectives and go from there.
You’ll be given a series of competency statements for you to rank your current level of understanding. You’ll then explore how digital and data skills apply to real-world scenarios.
The skills diagnostic will take between 15-20 minutes to complete.
You can pause, stop, or retake the skills diagnostic and focus on a different competency area at any time. Think of it as a learning tool, not a test.
After you’ve answered the questions, you’ll receive a tailored skills persona that will help you identify strengths and focus on areas for development. You can use this profile to navigate the collection of free resources in the Digital and Data Skills Hub, which includes flexible and easy-to-follow learning plans that fit around your work schedule.
