The AI Skills Lab is a monthly series of virtual, 30-minute events, brought to you as part of the Government AI Campus. Think of them as your shortcut to working smarter, one task at a time — with tips and hacks from public servants already using AI regularly to augment their work.
This session focuses on slide decks: an all-too-essential tool for sharing insights, communicating with colleagues and driving decisions in government.
One expert speaker will share their tips for using AI to help you rapidly turn rough content and scrawled notes into clear, well-structured presentations.

Steven Hubbard
Senior Data Scientist, the American Immigration Council

Steven Hubbard, Ph.D. is Senior Data Scientist at the American Immigration Council where he conducts research and data visualization projects related to immigration. Most recently, he was a Zolberg Fellow at The New School and International Rescue Committee where he conducted research on Syrian refugees living in Jordan. With a deep interest in photography, he recognizes the importance of visualization to communicate complex data problems and facilitate data driven decision making. Hubbard has over 20 years of experience in college teaching, research, and administration at New York University, The University of Iowa, and Hamline University. Dr. Hubbard started his professional career as a city planner for local governments in rural southwest Iowa.
