Wearing a mask. Sanitising your hands. Observing social distancing. The Covid-19 pandemic has made all of us change our behaviour — but this didn’t happen by accident.
Governments nudged, cajoled and convinced the public to comply with restrictions and enact social distancing by blending scientific evidence, audience understanding, behavioural insights, and compelling messaging.
In this workshop, you’ll learn why behaviour change communication is one of the key levers of public policy delivery alongside legislation, regulation and taxation. You’ll also hear how it can be used just as effectively outside of a crisis as it can during an emergency.
What you’ll learn:
- Techniques for communicating with the public when delivering policy
- How the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way governments influence public behaviour
- An overview of the principles behind behaviour change communication
Who should watch:
This workshop is for anyone curious about how government can use communication to change behaviour and deliver public policy goals.
