We often hear about the successes of entrepreneurs in business and sometimes in politics. From Emmanuel Macron creating a new party to win the French election to Catherine Mayer and Sandi Toksvig who co-founded The Women’s Equality Party in the U.K, there are numerous examples of entrepreneurship in politics.
Yet not all progress in politics can be attributed to entrepreneurship. A great deal of progress is driven forward by remarkable individuals working to improve politics from within the system. They are often not recognized for their efforts, perhaps missing opportunities to inspire more at a time when we need it.
The Apolitical Foundation is putting together a list 25 intrapreneurs in politics as part of the League of Intrapreneurs’ Global Intrapreneur Week. Please help us by nominating political intrapreneurs whose work you believe deserves a shoutout.
To help you with your nomination, we are looking for leaders in the political space who fit the following criteria:
They work within existing structures - a government, governmental organization or within the political system.
They work in politics rather than the public service.
They are not afraid of change and often carefully challenge the status quo if there are better alternatives.
They are comfortable adapting to what works while working with others to change what doesn’t.
They often work outside of the spotlight.
They often think of success as a collaborative effort.
As they work within the limitations of existing government/organizational structures, they must find creative ways to solve problems and create change.
They have a deep sense of community.
