The tracker is based on the skills that matter most to 21st century governments. We conducted two large-scale surveys on the needs of learning in government and asked our members what topics would be most useful to them. We added detail in interviews with public servants from a range of backgrounds.

We’ve identified six key skills that are important now and will become more valuable as government adapts to technological change and the rapid transformation of society.
