New York is attracting new entrepreneurs and creating opportunities for students through a visa program run by the city’s Economic Development Corporation and City University of New York (CUNY). Through the International Innovators Initiative, successful applicants are provided with an H1-B visa in return for establishing their business at one of CUNY's colleges. The entrepreneurs contribute to the university by mentoring students, providing work experience or assisting with academic research and curriculum development.
