The city of Jaipur is tackling sexual violence and harassment through a newly commissioned women-only police squad. The officers have months of martial arts training, and civilian women can contact them in minutes by phone or Whatsapp. While four in five Indian women have been harassed in public - such as by stalking or groping - there are few women in India’s police forces, and victims can be reluctant or afraid to report sex crimes or harassment to men.
