India opens up its departments' code to private enterprise

As part of its “Digital India” strategy, the government has launched a new platform that publishes existing code from ministries for new e-government projects. The platform, called OpenForge, also encourages partnerships between the public and private sector to use the same code in their services. OpenForge also makes it mandatory for government departments to share open source data and code with each other, private companies and academia.
