As a Junior Economist and youth advocate from Ethiopia, I’ve seen firsthand how digital exclusion limits opportunity—especially for young people. In a continent brimming with talent, creativity, and resilience, outdated systems and limited access to modern infrastructure remain critical barriers to progress.

Yet, I believe we’re on the edge of a transformation. Through inclusive digital tools and emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing, we can not only modernize public service delivery but also create new pathways for youth employment, innovation, and participation.

In my work—particularly through the development of a new digital education and media platform called Sifsin—I’ve focused on building systems that break down access barriers. This means empowering individuals regardless of social or economic background to learn, teach, earn, and connect.

Africa’s potential is vast, but we need policies and platforms that work for everyone. This includes access to international financial systems, digital identity, and education tailored to local realities. By investing in local talent, fostering innovation, and embracing frontier technologies, public servants can lead the charge toward a more equitable and empowered future.

I’m excited to be part of a growing movement of changemakers pushing for inclusive transformation—across sectors and borders.
