As a Team Leader at the Western Cape Government Contact Centre, I played a pivotal role in a cross-sector collaboration initiative involving 13 governmental departments. This initiative focused on managing and resolving complaints, queries, and compliments from citizens, serving as a central hub for public engagement and service delivery.

My responsibilities included:

Team engagement and coaching, ensuring staff were motivated, well-supported, and aligned with service excellence goals.

Counselling and performance management, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging continuous improvement.

Facilitating effective communication and coordination across departments to ensure timely and accurate responses to public inquiries.

Impact on Public Service Delivery:

Enhanced data sharing between departments, leading to more informed decision-making and quicker resolution of citizen issues.

Improved citizen satisfaction, as a result of streamlined processes and empathetic, efficient service from well-supported staff.

Strengthened internal team dynamics, contributing to higher morale and better service outcomes.

This experience demonstrates my ability to lead within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, driving both operational efficiency and meaningful public impact.
