Refugees in Greece, Lebanon and Germany are now able to access medical care in their own language using a video translation service through clinics in converted shipping containers. A partnership between Hamburg-Eppendorf University Hospital, which provides state funded healthcare for refugees, with Cisco and other private sector partners designed the medical centres, fitting 20-foot containers with wifi, examination facilities, screens and waiting areas and connecting them to 750 remote translators speaking 50 languages. In the first five months of the project more than 5,000 refugees were treated in one clinic.
