At my age, I often wonder if life will ever get any better or if I’m just living in some elaborate illusion. I mean, I've put in the effort to make improvements, but honestly, the obstacles just keep piling up like they're trying to win a prize for the biggest stack! If it’s not my color, it’s my gender; if it’s not my sexuality, it’s my size. Sometimes I feel like I’m trying to jump over hurdles that are taller than my hopes and dreams!
And let’s not even discuss the pressure of leaving the world less crumbly for future generations. I feel like I’m on some babysitting mission for humanity, trying to clean up the mess while my own generation just watches reruns of “Oops, We Messed Up Again!”
I've been told, “Just step off the wheel so someone younger can hop on.” Apparently, my generation has done enough damage to the planet that our only solution is to hand over the baton and shout, “Good luck!” We’ve covered up our problems with Band-Aids the size of Texas, and I’m starting to think we might need a whole new toolbox to fix this!
Sorry, everyone, we did try and we managed to pull off some pretty great things but maybe it’s time for me to step aside and let the younger crew take the wheel. Just remember to keep the snacks stocked!
