CM Approves Panchvarshik (Five-Year) Action Plan 2025–30 for AI Implementation

Focus: Training in AI, ML, and related domains for students, MSMEs, and government officials

To realize the vision of “Developed Gujarat 2047,” the state government has approved a comprehensive five-year action plan (2025–2030) focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The plan aims to ensure widespread AI literacy, application, and innovation in the state.

The strategy includes a six-pillar approach:

1. Data: Establish a State Data and AI Innovation Hub for high-quality, unbiased, and representative datasets.
2. Digital Infrastructure: Expand Tier-2 and Tier-3 AI computing facilities, GPU, and scalable infrastructure (similar to AIRAWAT at the national level).
3. Capacity Building: Train over 2.5 lakh individuals, including students, MSMEs, and government officials, in AI and related technologies.
4. R&D and Use Cases: Promote research and pilot projects in departments to develop impactful and ethical AI-based use cases.
5. Startup Facilitation: Support AI startups via innovation hubs, AI clusters, and seed/startup grants.
6. Trustworthy AI: Establish regulatory frameworks and ensure responsible AI deployment for public trust.

Pilot projects will begin in select departments as part of initial implementation.

Chief Minister has granted approval for the plan, which aims to strengthen the technological capabilities of the state. Various stakeholders, including academia, startups, and government agencies, will be actively involved.

The plan supports building a knowledge-based society with values of innovation, inclusion, safety, transparency, and ethics, making Gujarat a leader in responsible and scalable AI use.
