Access for All

I’m excited to share the release of my new book, Access for All - a call to action for leaders who are ready to close the gap between what we say about accessibility and what we actually deliver.

This is not a manual or a how-to guide.

It’s the why behind designing public services and products.

Behind every policy and every legislative commitment lies a real person. Too often, those people are left waiting.

Access for All prioritises the sharing of the voices that matter most: people with lived experience of inaccessibility and exclusion. Their stories challenge us to do better, and to shift the conversation from compliance to compassion, from checklists to meaningful change.

This book was born from a simple belief: accessibility and inclusion are not optional add-ons (they’re foundational to good leadership and good design).

We don’t need to wait for the perfect framework or toolkit to get started. What we need is courage, humility, and an openness to listen. Access for All is (hopefully) the beginning of that conversation.

If you’re a leader in business, government, education, tech... anywhere decisions are made, I invite you to read this book and ask yourself: Are we really including everyone? And if not, what will we do about it?

Let’s stop asking how until we fully understand why.

The book has been written by me, Joanna Goodwin (Head of User Centred Design and Delivery at CDPS, Wales) and Fernando Loizides (Reader in Computer Science and Informatics at Cardiff University). The book shares real-life stories, global best practice, and actionable guidance to help public services design more accessible digital experiences.
