Welcome to the final activity of your psychological safety course. This task requires you to consider everything you learnt over the past four weeks, and think about what you can do to make your workplace feel a little more psychologically safe. In this task you will write down five commitments that you think will help you in this. They will then act as a reminder of the positive impact you can make on psychological safety in your team.

1. Introduction

Throughout the course you have been asked to think about aspects of your work that help or hinder psychological safety in your workplace. You have been asked to draft weekly commitments based on what you have learned. Using them as a guide, identify the five best commitments that you can make to promote a fearless work environment. Think back to lesson 1.2_, in which you identified which quadrant your team falls into._ How could you contribute to ensuring that your team moves to or remains in the ‘learning and high performance zone’?

Download the sheet below and write down your commitments. Keep them as a reminder of the positive impact you can make on your team.

Need some inspiration? Here’s an example to start you off:

“No stupid questions: I will set an example by asking the ‘stupid question’ first. I hope to set an example that there are no stupid questions, just vital opportunities for clarity. I hope my team will gain the confidence to do the same, but also that they will see the value in clarifying the unspoken.”
