Wisconsin will get a cranberry research station after two decades of lobbying as the result of a partnership with the US Department of Agriculture and local growers. The $1.4 million facility will study cranberry genetics and genomics, and support an industry that employs 4,000 people in the state. Wisconsin has been the biggest cranberry producer in the US for 22 years running.
