About the job
With a growing global need for data and collaboration across government, Apolitical is looking to hire
a VP Growth in order to accelerate their user acquisition and engagement to allow more public servants
to collaborate effectively on some of the world’s biggest problems.

You will define and drive the marketing strategy of the company at the highest level. Joining at a time of
critical time of growth, you will tackle increasingly complex and company-defining social and
technical challenges. We are a product- and user-centric company and you will approach growth from
perspective of how best to maximise the value for our users.

You will have solid marketing literacy, be able to move at pace on multiple tasks and take projects from
design to execution and evaluation. Working on initiative, you will use creativity and flair to lead and
mentor a cross-functional team to build and execute growth and engagement strategies. You will be
creative enough to manage people working on innovative marketing campaigns and rigorous enough to
manage people working on SEO.


Other responsibilities include

  • Define and own the growth marketing strategy, with a focus on conceptualising and
    activating campaigns for free user growth and engagement.
  • Lead and scale a high-performing team to create and implement strategic marketing
    initiatives across various marketing functions including performance marketing, events,
    social media marketing, product marketing and partnerships.
  • Use data and analytics for decision making and measuring marketing effectiveness as well as
    creating a culture of structured experimentation and iteration to drive growth, engagement and retention.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to ensure consistency and alignment across
    campaigns and initiatives, especially with peers in product and engineering.
  • Distinguish the best optimisation strategies for free and paid acquisition funnels.
  • Identify multi-channel campaigns together with your team to drive user growth and
  • Overall responsibility for driving site traffic through activities such as content marketing,
    social media and SEO.
  • Ensure concise and engaging messaging across all of the current products and services.



  • Experience of successfully developing B2C growth marketing strategies delivering tangible
    business results.
  • Ability to lead high performance marketing teams, inspiring and empowering them to work
    towards common goals.
  • Experience of managing complex projects with audience engagement at the core, remaining
    agile in an ever changing environment.
  • Innovative approach in finding new ways of engaging our unique user base
  • Understand how to leverage customer insight as a springboard of creativity to unlock growth
  • Open to productive, intellectually stimulating debate; a strong critical thinker
  • Curiosity, creativity and flexibility; be ready to take initiative and get your hands dirty as we
    figure things out together
  • An enthusiastic self starter who can manage projects autonomously, with great attention to
  • Stakeholder management abilities with strong business acumen and ability to work cross-
    functionally and report back to multiple leaders across the business
  • Strong left and right brain; known for creativity but also for rigorous testing, measurement
    and iteration to drive continuous improvement
