An Indian energy company is delivering renewable electricity to underserved rural populations through miniature solar grid installations, and boosting economic development in the process. Smart Power India has built a self-sustaining rural electricity model that will serve one million people across 1,000 villages. Of the participating local businesses surveyed, 70% reported an increase in customers and 80% have plans for expansion.
