Chantal Smith, social scientist and senior researcher focusing on AI’s intersection with geopolitics, policy and deep tech at Exponential View, has a Master’s degree in Economy, Risk and Society from the London School of Economics. She has dissected the social impact of emerging technologies like quantum computing. Chantal’s expertise in AI prompting reaches hundreds of thousands of leaders who turn to Exponential View to understand how their organisations need to adjust to the pace of change. With diverse experiences, ranging from policy research at the Embassy of Switzerland in Denmark to academic roles at EPFL, her multidisciplinary approach brings a nuanced understanding of the risks and opportunities posed by AI in today’s world. Chantal will be presenting a hands-on event focused on the techniques and insights of prompt engineering with generative AI tools.
Gigi Ghanim, is the Chief of Staff at data.org where she oversees systems, planning and reporting for the organization. She leads data.org's government engagement initiatives, facilitating partnerships with public sector organizations to enhance data and AI capacity building for civil servants globally. With an extensive background supporting nonprofits, she works closely with executive teams to tactically manage, operationalize, and integrate strategic planning initiatives across organizations. At the webinar, she'll share practical frameworks for cultivating data literacy within government institutions and demonstrate how public servants can leverage AI tools to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. Gigi received her MA in International Relations from the Institute of World Politics in Washington D.C. and a BA in Political Science from Temple University.
