AI Skills Lab is a new monthly series of virtual, 30-minute events, brought to you as part of the Government AI Campus. Think of them as your shortcut to working smarter, one task at a time — with tips and hacks from public servants already using AI regularly to augment their work.
This fourth session focuses on time management, a universal pain point for civil servants. You’ll discover how AI can help you plan your day more effectively, cut down time spent on meetings and emails and stay in control of your workload.
One expert speaker will share their tricks and tools for planning, prioritising and optimising your workday.

Garth von Buchholz
Senior Digital Strategist, Ministry of Finance of British Columbia
Canada
Garth von Buchholz, BA, CUA, GCET, is the Senior Digital Strategist for the Ministry of Finance in the Government of British Columbia, Canada. His UX design team in the Public Information branch manages the web properties for Revenue Division. Garth is an educator, AI analyst, and certified educational technologist who graduated from the University of British Columbia. He formed the branch's Digital Literacy Lab in 2024 to help share AI use cases for Microsoft Copilot and promote AI onboarding for his team. Garth is a member of the BC+AI Ecosystem, the AI Community of Practice, and the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee. He lives with his family in Greater Victoria, B.C., on the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ and Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations.
